Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands situated in southeast Aegean. With its phenomenal growth over the past few years, is fast becoming one of Greece’s premier kiteboarding destinations. The strong, reliable Meltemi wind combined with long stretches of golden sand and thrilling nightlife set the stage for the ideal kiting holidays. Most of Rhodes kitesurfing areas offer ideal conditions to take a kite course due to the shallow waters and the side on-shore wind direction. A number of qualified kiteboarding schools run all round the coast, in several places across the island, in which you can be trained to kite or rent all relevant equipment. Further, Rhodes is packed with all types of accommodation – hotels, apartments, homestays – all of which can be found both around the very well-preserved medieval city center and in various locations throughout the island. The best kitesurfing season is mid-June to September but you can kite all year round.
